OUTCOMES AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
The outcomes and recommendation of the conference are:
• Participants’ interest and awareness about ESD issues were significantly raised.
• Participants recognized the urgency and importance of education for sustainability and the critical role of education in promoting sustainable development.
•All the participants announced commitments to associate with NEFRS for making education for sustainability as a common vision for the needed change. It is recommended that future meetings continue to be held across the region and institutions involving all stakeholders. Sponsorship from UNESCO and others sources may be explored
- Participants recommended that strategies be developed for building awareness and encouraging action to implement ESD in all forms of learning.
An event with Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman and Chief Mentor Officer of Infosys Technologies limited will be held in the first week of August, this year. We are planning an international conference on Education for Sustainability.
